Now, we are in the 10 days of Ramadhan, 10 days away from Hari Raya Eid (but that's not I want to stress out here!). There is one night believed in the 10 nights Ramdhan called Lailatul Qadr as in the Quran:

On the Night of Power pray to God with all your heart and He will definitely answer all your prayers. The Quran says : "Surely We revealed it (the Holy Quran) on the grand night. And what will make you comprehend what the grand night. The grand night is better than a thousand months. The angels and Gibreel descend in it by the permission of their Lord for every affair, Peace! It is till the break of the morning." (Al-Qadr:1-5)

The Night of Power is full of blessings because the Eminent Quran descended in it. The Quran is peace by itself. It distinguishes between the good and evil and shows the path of eternal Peace and Bliss to all Mankind forever. This being so, the Night in which this Divine Book was sent down is worthy of great esteem.During this night, as explained in the verse quoted above, the Angels and the Jubrail descend. Their nearness to earth gives a spiritual luster to the hearts and souls of the believers.

Those who pass his night in Prayer, experience an unimaginable bliss, a deep feeling of great pleasure as a result of immense heavenly blessings in this night. Recite the Holy Quran, seek Allah's forgiveness and pray for the good of this world as well as the hereafter. We never knew that maybe this is the last Ramdhan for us in this world, so I want to remind me and my fellow friends to seek this blessed nights with ibadah, tahajud prayer and seek for Allah's forgiveness for our sins.

AGM SRC

This Ramadhan made me think about my future, what I want to do next after graduation, what should I achieve in my life, what should I do with my life to achieve my aims and so on..Things to ponder about..

Students' Representatives Council 2007/08 had ended its reign in IIUM!! Last Friday, 21st September 2008, we had our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Main Audi IIUM with Kuantan excos also coming for it..Hayyi presented the annual activities report and Hanis presented the financial report.. Some QnA session with some hot issues (I rather called it provocative statements from the audience made emotional responses from the exco!)

I remembered posting this statement in a yahoogroups:

YB: Yang berkhidmat bukan Yang berhormat, yang sanggup turun kepada rakyat/massa untuk kerja2 glemer mahupun tidak glemer seperti angkat kerusi, basuh periuk, bagi flyers dan sebagainya..Bukan juga seorang mandur yang berlagak ekslusif tapi hanya pandai komen belakang slps programme..Sampai bile nak maju camni!!

We don't need leaders who can only talks and talks, we can do this, we should do that, but in the end when it comes to doing your own job as an exco of SRC, you failed even you were given some years of service. What happen to your statement about partisan and non partisan leader? In the end, it was all just crap! I believed that being a partisan or non partisan got nothing to do with carrying out our responsibliities as SRC. Even if your are a partisan, if you do your job as best as you can, nobody will questioned your credibillity as a leader.. O Allah, forgive me for being so rude in this blessing month.

To my fellow SRCs members, Adib, Hayyi, Ucop, Farah, Hanis, Dekda, Deli, Ilme, Hashim, Sevgi, and others, thank you for all your hardwork, efforts, time, money that you contributed to SRC. Thousand apologies for any shortcomings throughout our tenure. SRC 2007/08: In memory.

aHLan WaSaHLaN ya RaMaDaN

Month of Ramadhan 1429H

Maybe this is the last Ramdhan for me in IIUM since I'll be graduating this November. Four years in IIUM had thought me so many things.

In IIUM
During Ramadhan, we had free iftar every day from 1st till 30 Ramadhan in SHAS Mosque, contribution from the people who paid sadaqah and fitrah alms to the mosque. Last year, it was Arab bread and soup. This year, we had nasi and ayam, Malays food.

During Ramadhan, we had bazaar Ramdhan that will be filled with students and staffs buying for iftar. Last year, it was held between Engineering and KAED. This year, IIUM Endowment Fund held it on the CONVEST Hill..

During Ramadhan, we will not see students smoking in the cafe beside the library or in the mahallah during the day. At night, terawih prayer will be held at the mosque, and musollas.

On 30th August, SHAS Mosque organized Ahlan Wasahlan Ya Ramdhan program in collaboration with SRC 2007/08 and EC. We had our SRC excos and committees preparing bubur lambuk and distributing it to the sutdents. Many international students got interested in joining the masak-masak bubur lambuk..
